Jerry has been a Correctional Officer with the La Salle County Jail since January 2014.  He completed his Oleoresin Capsicum (Pepper Spray) Instructor training in October, 2013. Member's Fee: $0

This course will cover the following topics:
  1. Current trends and related topics
  2. Liability concerns & exposure
  3. Use of Force
  4. Product selection considerations
Students must pass a written examination.  Experiencing an O.C. exposure is recommended, but optional.  Students must show proficiency with o.c. bottle and spray methods.

THIS COURSE MEETS THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED MANDATED TRAINING:  Civil Rights, Procedural Justice, Constitutional & Proper Use of Law Enforcement Authority, Legal Updates, Use of Force

MTU 5’s request for certification of this course is PENDING through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standard’s Board.

Course enrollment must be made by the agency CEO or designated training officer.  Registration may be made using our on-line course registration link on this website.  All officers enrolled by their department will be assumed to be on duty unless otherwise noted
